In a shocking incident, a Kannada producer became a victim of the honey trap only to discover later that the whole scheme was orchestrated by a renowned director who intended to extort money from him. Yes, you heard it right. Ravindra, the Kannada director, allegedly, attempted to extort money from the producer Mahadev and intimidate him as well. What left everyone shocked was his idea to use women for the same.
Soon after the director’s role in orchestrating the trap was confirmed, Mahadev filed a complaint at Annapurneshwari Nagar Police Station. In the aftermath of stern action taken by the producer against the director, the police arrested Ravindra who attempted to threaten the director sexually using women.
As per the reports, Ravindra blackmailed Chingari producer Mahadev for money. It has also been learned that accused Ravindra, besides Mahadev, had a few more targets as he also tried to plot women to trap other producers as well in order to extort money. Notably, Mahadev has done significant work in the Kannada film industry and has produced films like Chingari, Srikanta and Shishira. On the other hand, Ravindra directed the film Barbaat.
During an interaction with the media, Mahadev’s son Manu gave details about what happened with his father in the last few days. He said, “On October 28, a girl called my father and asked him to return the money.” Manu said that his father disconnected the call saying that he had not taken money from anyone. He added, “After I came to know about the matter, I traced the number and found that the number belongs to a boy named Mounesh who works in Ravindra’s office. I filed a complaint in Annapurneswari Nagar police station regarding this issue.”
He further reported that after the investigation for a week, Ravindra himself admitted that he had made the call from Mounesh’s number and also attempted to blackmail three other producers in the same manner.
