Liverpool have shifted their interest in Spaniard David Villa incase their premiere striker Luiz Suarez decides to end his tenure at Anfield.
According to a report in Footylatest.com, the Mersyside club are targeting the Catalan as a possible replacement for arguably the best striker in England. The Reds are trying their best to keep Suarez in their repertoire, but with Real Madrid closing in on the Uruguayan, Liverpool might well be on course to letting him go.
According to reports in Spain, Villa holds a commanding chance to replace Suarez and Liverpool are sure they can land in the Spaniard at a decent deal. Villa has reportedly even told coach Tito Vilanova that he wants to discontinue at Camp Nou.
Liverpool can get serious competition from Tottenham and Italian club Napoli in a quest to sign Spain's all-time leading goal-scorer.
