Guntur: Seven men in inebriated condition pushed a woman under the wheels of a speeding truck in Guntur, leading to her death, after she took on them and resisted their harassment, police said on Tuesday.
B Susheela, a housewife, was seriously injured in Monday night's incident at Tenali town. The 45-year-old was rushed to NRI General Hospital at nearby Mangalagiri town, where she died on Tuesday, they said.
All the seven persons have been arrested. Susheela and her daughter were returning home after shopping at around 10 pm when these men had just come out of a bar and started heckling them.
The woman hit back and shouted at them. This infuriated the men who roughed up Susheela and pushed her under the wheels of a speeding truck, police said.
