KOCHI: The Crime Branch (CB) on Thursday filed the first chargesheet against the father of the victim in the Paravoor sex scam before the Paravoor First Class Judicial Magistrate. The CB has named Sudheer, the father of the victim, as the prime accused in the case. According to the CB officials, the accused has been charged under IPC Section 376(rape) and IPC 506(criminal intimidation). The police have so far arrested 94 people in the case. The chargesheets against the rest 93 will be submitted before May 31 as per an High Court order, said a CB official. The chargesheet is based on 71 material evidences and 46 witnesses. The CB will submit 45 chargesheets soon and the rest will be filed before May 31. The chargesheet stated that the Paravoor sex scandal victim was ‘sold’ to customers like in a slave trade. She was virtually sold to customers by an agent for about `1 lakh after a lot of bargaining.The girl deposed that she once made a suicide attempt by jumping in front of a bus. “My father threw me into the flesh market after threatening my mother. It happened when I was studying in class X. My father used to take me away for days and he informed my teacher that I had urinary problems and hence cannot attend the school.I was totally depressed for days and thought about suicide. Once I even jumped in front of a bus, but the driver stopped the bus and scolded me,” she said. As per her deposition, the first incident took place in 2010. Sudheer took her to a hotel room in Ernakulam on May 3, 2010, on the pretext of an interview for a role in a film. She was presented to a man who sexually abused her. After a week, she was taken to many flats in and around Ernakulam. She was abused in houses and hotels in Kadavanthra, Palarivattom, Thammanam, Kakkanad, Chalakudy, Athirappilly, Munnar, Thrissur, Mapranam, Parassala, Thiruvananthapuram, Kannur, Bangalore, Mysore, Chennai, Ootty and Coimbatore.“If there were classes after 4 pm, my father would take me somewhere on his bike. I studied at a school at North Paravoor,” she deposed.Seenath, Khadeeja, Jessy, Beena and Omana were the main agents who sold the girl to the customers. Two more girls were abused in her presence with the connivance of their parents and relatives, she added.
