THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A company of CISF comprising 100 personnel were deployed in Neyyatinkara on Friday in view of chances of poll violence. Half of the CISF personnel conducted a route march in Perunkadavila and Udiyankulanagara on Friday evening, two of the highly sensitive areas in the constituency, as a confidence-building measure for the public. Already, a strong posse of local police is camping in the trouble-prone areas of the constituency, which is going to the polls on Saturday.  According to Rural SP A J Thomaskutty, the rest of the personnel are camping at the AR Camp in the city. ‘’They would be moved to the constituency if warranted. Apart from Perunkadavila and Udiyankulangara, the other highly sensitive areas which have been identified by the police are Marayamuttam and Chenkal,’’ he said. Already around 2,000 police personnel have been been deployed for the smooth conduct of the by-election. It includes 250 sub-inspectors and assistant sub-inspectors, a proportionate number of circle inspectors and 1400 Civil Police Officers.  About 100 police vehicles have also been made available for the election duty. ‘’The deployment of the CISF was part of the earlier plan. The flag march conducted on Friday evening is a routine,’’ said District Collector K N Satheesh.
