HYDERABAD: The State Legislative Assembly transacted business for only six minutes on Friday with the Opposition Telugu Desam and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) stalling the proceedings for the second day of the winter session.Speaker Nadendla Manohar who adjourned the House twice soon after it met, finally adjourned it for the day at 11 am amid noisy scenes. When the speaker was about to occupy his chair at 9 am, TDP and TRS members trooped into the well raising slogans.The TRS members wanted the House to adopt a resolution on separate Telangana state, while the Opposition TDP members insisted for an immediate discussion on the no-trust motion against the Kiran Kumar Reddy government.The TDP members hailing from Telangana also demanded that a bill on separate T be introduced in the current session of Parliament.The speaker adjourned the house for one minute to calm down the members. He did not even read out the notices of various parties foradjournment motions. When the House met for the second time, the TRS and TDP members squatted before the speaker’s podium raising slogans. The speaker said his office received the notice given by the TDP for a no-confidence motion against the Congress government. Manohar said he was acknowledging the notice given by the TDP.“I have received your notice and I would follow the House procedures,” he said.However, the TDP members continued to raise slogans against the government. Then the speaker adjourned the House again for 30 minutes. When the House met again, the speaker wanted the ministers to introduce the three proposed bills, which led to pandemonium. The speaker appealed to the members to cooperate with him as he was to adopt some condolence motions.The TDP members obliged his appeal and went back to their seats.But the TRS MLAs continued slogans demanding that the TDP and the Congress stick to their decisions and see that the Assembly adopted a resolution on T state.The TRS MLAs, including KT Rama Rao, raised Jai Telangana slogans, forcing the speaker to adjourn the House for the day. Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu who confined themselves to their chambers in the Assembly, did not participate in the House proceedings.
