MADURAI: Various organisations have called for a bandh in Madurai district on December 22 to condemn the Kerala government’s attitude on the Mullaiperiyar dam issue. Pledging support, president of the TN Foodgrains Merchants’ Association S P Jeyapragasam, on Saturday, said that the farmers in Madurai and nearby districts would be deprived of water if Kerala went ahead with decommissioning the dam. A fast will be organised on the day at the MADITSSIA hall.
