HYDERABAD: Suspended TDP MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy and MLA K Harishwar Reddy on Wednesday urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to initiate steps for formation of Telangana state at the earliest. In a letter to the Prime Minister, both the leaders expressed their anguish over the police high-handedness towards the students participating in the T agitation.“The police have become a law unto themselves. The imposition of Section 144  has become a rule rather than an exception. The students are put to untold hardships and police have been trying  to link the agitators with the Left-wing extremists. Telangana people are patriotic to the core,” they said in the letter.Nagam further stated that in view of even ministers from Telangana region quitting their posts, it was imperative that there was no popular government in the state that reflects the aspirations of the people.  Nagam Janardhan Reddy, meanwhile, met Assembly secretary Sadaram and requested him to accept the resignations of four MLAs - Nagam, Harishwar Reddy, J Ramanna and S Venugopalachary - as they have put in their papers voluntarily.
