Mumbai: A 12-year-old girl from Chembur in Mumbai delivered a baby boy on Monday evening at JJ Hospital.
The girl complained of abdomen pain a few months ago and was given pain killers. The test, however, revealed that she was seven months pregnant.
The girl was allegedly raped by her step-father. The accused was arrested after a complaint was filed by the girl's mother.
The infant weighed only 2 kgs and was admitted to neonatal intensive care unit.
Both mother and child are stable now.
