Stand united against China, says VHP

KOCHI: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Sunday condemned the Chinese actions which affect the sovereignty of India. A resolution passed by the VHP’s Board of Trustees which met here, condemned the increasingly predatory actions perpetrated by the People’s Republic of China against India. The VHP demanded India should stand up to the aggressive posture of China. It pointed out that the Chinese actions not only threaten India but also other South, South-East and East-Asian countries. If not stopped, it will lead to serious conflicts, the resolution said. The VHP accused China of “repeatedly violating the Line of Actual Control and challenging the sovereignty of other nations by military incursions on the Indo-Tibetan border, the Ladakh region and the borders of Arunachal Pradesh.” The resolution also came up with a couple of accusations against China, including repeatedly perpetrating the false notion that the state of Arunachal Pradesh, which is an integral part of India, is the territory of China, supporting Maoist insurgency, Pakistan’s acts of aggression, nuclear bomb and missile programmes, expanding presence in the Indian Ocean by building ports and establishing military presence in Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The resolution pointed out that China has been dumping substandard goods in India. The VHP Board of Trustees demanded that the  Government of India should initiate measures to reclaim the occupied territory of India which is under Chinese control since 1962. Restriction on the import of Chinese goods, countering Chinese designs in the Indian Ocean by expanding Naval, air base, military strength and diplomatic footprint in the entire Indian Ocean region, isolating China in international forums, strengthening India’s security and intelligence apparatus and stopping China from diverting Himalayan water were the other demands.The VHP called on the citizens to desist from trading in Chinese goods, boycott them and register protests against Chinese interference.
