Chennai: Actress Khushboo will soon be joining the DMK, which governs Tamil Nadu and is an important constituent of the central government.
Khushboo is scheduled to meet DMK chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karnanidhi to enroll herself as a primary member of the party, sources close to her said on Friday.
She has already held two rounds of discussions with senior DMK leaders and will meet them again, they told PTI.
Khushboo first indicated her desire to join politics soon after the Supreme Court recently quashed a slew of cases filed against her for her alleged statements on pre-marital sex made in an interview in 2005.
"I am silently involved in lot of social work including in the areas of HIV/AIDS, transgenders and cancer. But being in politics gives a larger platform and to work better," she had said.
