CPI-ML Observes Anti-KKNPP Day

TIRUNELVELI: Urging to close down the Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KKNPP), the CPI-ML staged a demonstration here.As part of the Statewide protest, the party staged a demonstration in front of Tirunelveli Junction Railway Station, which was led by Tirunelveli district secretary Sankarapandian.Participating in the demonstration, CPI-ML State secretary Balasundaram said that the  statements made by nuclear scientists Srikumar Banerjee and S K Jain were aimed at creating differences within the Koodankulam protestors by “threatening” the people.Instead of speaking about the safety of the people, they were speaking about the safety features of the Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant, Balasundaram said.Later, the party functionaries went to Idinthakarai and met the protesters.
