Srishaila Jagadguru passes away

BANGALORE: Srishaila Jagadguru Umapati Panditaradhya Shivacharya, the seer of Sri Shaila mutt, died in Davanagere on Saturday. The 62-year-old seer of Sri Shaila was one among the five panchapeethas of the Lingayat sect and was revered by all in Karnataka.“The seer was admitted in a private hospital in Bangalore for kidney-related ailments and was brought to Davanagere as per his wishes,” Mutt sources said.He breathed his last in one of the branches of Sri Shaila Mutt at 7:45 am. Umapati Panditaradhya Shivacharya held the reins of Sri Shaila Mutt for three decades.
